What is a tricorder?

Do you ever ask yourself “Is the sky more red at sunset?”, "Exactly how bright is my TV?", "Is it actually cold? Or am I simply feeling cold?","How clean is the air in my apartment? Or in the airplane I am flying in? Or the hotel I'm staying at?", "How busy are the airwaves?", "What is this color?"


In the modern world, these questions are asked not just by humans but also by the AI models that drive our cars, guide manufacturing in factories, and operate our data centers. Learning the answers to these questions requires the study of the physical world in both minute detail and extreme variety. 


The tricorder is a device which makes this study possible by integrating a host of sensor modules that expand the perception of humans and AI to the highest level that is technologically possible. Inspired from the tricorder from Star Trek, the aim of this device is to sense as many physical quantities as possible in order to detect and quantify ambient information. 


Why use a tricorder?

The tricorder technology is useful for more than just space exploration and learning. In our SuperExec data center architecture, it can be used to expand the perception of AI agent swarms by measuring everything from the basics - temperature, relative humidity, absolute humidity, barometric pressure, visible, infrared, & uv light, to the more complex - particulate matter concentrations, volatile organic compounds, CO2 concentration, ionizing radiation, wind speed, vibration, orientation, photo-spectrometry, LiDAR & thermal mapping, etc. 


Several tricorder modules can be networked to provide the most comprehensive ambient data collection that is technologically possible - all while using commercial-off-the-shelf parts. Our proprietary nsquare technology enables lightning fast, power-efficient consolidation of ambient data using advanced mathematical techniques like Kalman Filtering. Together, the tricorder modules and nsqaure Math Processing Units (MPUs) provide unprecedented and unmatched levels of ambient intelligence.
