Estimate the power required for your AI data center
This calculator estimates the amount of power required to operate a hybrid AI/conventional data center - whether small or large. Since all data processing facilities are built using the same fundamental components, we can arrive at a ballpark value for how much power is needed for its operation. The exact value will differ based on the computing, business, and resource-availability needs.
Start by specifying the total area available and then select the split of AI-enabled and traditional servers.
PUE is a measure of how efficiently a data center consumes power. It is the ratio of the total power consumption of the facility to the power consumption of the compute infrastructure.
Typical PUE for data centers is 1.5 but can be reduced to 1.1 or lower by incorporating green technologies and AI-powered solutions that make the best use of these technologies.
Browse through the list of commercially available GPUs, TPUs, and other accelerators based on their power consumption and computing performance.
Browse through the list of commercially available server and edge computing CPUs. The calculator shows the key specifications and power consumption for each available option.
Adjust the power consumption of the other components like memory, storage, cooling, etc. using the sliders. For each component, the sliders can be adjusted between its typical minimum and maximum values, based on commercially available hardware.
